Be An Advocate!
You can help spread the word about the power of the gift of life by being an advocate for organ, eye and tissue donation. Help us inspire others to join the registry and make a difference to the thousands of North Carolinians on the transplant waiting list. Here are some ideas for effective advocacy.
Email Family and Friends
A personal touch can go a long way toward encouraging others to give the gift of life. Consider adding a link to the registry to the signature line of your email. Everyone you email will be reminded of the gift of life!
Share Your Story
Sharing your personal story with organ, eye or tissue donation is the very best way to inspire others. Consider writing an article for your local newspaper or contacting your local television station about your transplant anniversary. You could also share your story with your elected representatives. Contact us for talking points and current data at info@donatelifenc.org.
Run a Campaign at Your School, Workplace or Place of Worship
Community donation drives are a fun way to introduce others to the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Implement these easy and effective steps in your community to make a difference. Email us if you would like some posters to hang up at your school or place of worship--they can be a great way to get the conversation started!
Teens conducting service projects related to organ, eye and tissue donation can qualify to receive a Donate Life Honor Award. Learn more HERE!
Use Social Media
Social media is a powerful way to share your personal story with others. Share the news about Donate Life North Carolina on Facebook and Twitter. Or submit the details to your employer or community newsletters. Tweet, post, and blog — telling your friends, family and co-workers how they can save lives as a registered organ, eye and tissue donor.
