Welcome, living donors! This page is a resource for you to connect and give back after you have recovered from your surgery. Living donation is a life-changing experience, and many of us find that we want to be more involved in helping others following our surgeries. Donate Life North Carolina has several ways for you to engage, connect and give back!
WoMen Encouraging Living Donation (WELD)
Donate Life WELD is a unique, national volunteer opportunity for men and women who have already had their donation surgery and are looking to help build awareness about living donation. DL WELD member attend in-person and virtual meetings, training and public events to share their stories and provide non-clinical information about living donation. Our goal is not to recruit living donors, but to act as a resource for our communities and normalize the conversation about living donation.
North Carolina has three DL WELD chapters and we encourage you to reach out to our chapter leads to get involved!
