The Gift of a Second Chance Event
Wayne County Commissioners and citizens of Goldsboro, NC have joined communities around the nation to recognize the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation by declaring April as Donate Life Month.
For those whose lives have been saved or healed by a transplant, National Donate Life Month provides a chance to share their story to encourage more people to register as donors.
Like Dr. Sandra Coley, a mother in Goldsboro, NC. She turned the tragic, heartbreaking death of her son into a journey of healing and triumph through organ donation. By honoring her son's wishes to be an organ donor, he was able to give the gift of life to several of those waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Her outreach efforts span across the state.
Dr. Coley will be hosting a community education event on April 29th from 11-1pm at First African Baptist Church located at 803 Harris Street in Goldsboro, NC. The public is invited to learn more about organ, eye, and tissue donation. Attendees will enjoy a program, a special tribute to donors and recipients, along with drinks and refreshments.
Come and hear more about Dr. Coley's experience and more information on organ, eye, and tissue donation.
