Meet Travis Robinson, Jr.

Meet Travis Robinson, Jr. At just three months old, he was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. A device called the Berlin Heart kept him alive for three and a half months while he waited for a lifesaving heart transplant. His mom, Allyson, is a strong advocate for donation and an active volunteer with LifeShare Carolinas and Donate Life North Carolina. She is grateful for the donor hero who saved Travis and her son's doctors, Dr. Gonzalo Wallis and Dr. Thomas Maxey from Levine Children's Hospital.

When we asked Travis if we could feature him, this sweet, spunky 5-year-old said he wanted to answer the interview questions himself! Could he be any cuter?

What do you think about your heart transplant?

"I'm glad my heart is back to racing; now I can play drums."

What can you do with your new heart?

"Play basketball, Tae Kwon Do, and live with Mommy, Trayton, and Dad."

What would you like to say to your heart donor's family?

"I love them."

Do you think people should be organ donors?

"Yes, because if people have a heart, they can do some deep belly breathing."
